C. Joseph Anderson, M.D. is one of the co-founders of Anderson & Shapiro Eye Care. Dr. Anderson has been Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin for the last three decades, teaching residents and other ophthalmologists. Dr. Anderson graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame and completed medical school and his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin. During this time, he was elected to the highest medical honor society of Alpha Omega Alpha. Following his residency, he complete fellowship training in corneal and inflammatory eye diseases at the University of Indiana Medical School.

Dr. Anderson frequently lectures on cataract and refractive surgery and has invented and improved safety techniques for performing ocular anesthesia. He has authored numerous medical articles and book chapters. He was the first ophthalmologist in the state of Wisconsin to perform an intraocular lens implant using a multifocal intraocular lens. Dr. Anderson has been named to the Best Doctors in Madison list, as well as Best Doctors in America and Who's Who.

Dr. Anderson and his wife, Carole, have two children, Nicole and Jon. They are very proud of the fact that their daughter, Nicole, completed her fellowship in ophthalmology and has now joined Anderson & Shapiro Eye Care. Dr. Anderson enjoys a variety of athletics, having recently completed an Iron Man competition, and spending time with his family.
